This West Coast dance was originally known as Campbellocking named after its creator Don Campbell. From Los Angeles, California in the 1970′s, its early influences were from soul and funk music.
The Lockers were well known for their big personalities, brightly colored shirts with big collars, knee high socks, bow ties, and apple hats. This dance style is characterized by the well known “Lock”, points, wrist twirls, handshakes, knee drops, freezes, and splits.
