Choreographer, dancer, teacher, and founder Crazy Smooth (Yvon Soglo) will be teaching a 2 hour Rocking and Breakin workshop at Pulse Studios.

Ottawa-based B-boy Crazy Smooth (Smooth) has found an avenue to share his passion for dance through his dance company Bboyizm. A member of the Canadian Floor Masters crew, Breaks Kru, and Dynasty Rockers, he works closely with the organization Blueprint for Life which exercises social work through Hip Hop in remote northern regions of Canada. He is a promoter and educator of Hip Hop and has created a life long passion to pass on the living traditions of Hip Hop and Breaking through his current dance company. The company’s first work called “IZM” debuts in Calgary October 18-21. It articulates Breaking as an art form in the theater performance setting, bringing together 10 of Canada’s most talented performers on one stage!

Bboyizm is a dance company mandated to promote and preserve the foundation, authenticity and true essence of all street dances. The artistic philosophy of the company is based on the idea that a dancers self expression is paramount; our mot to being “Dance to express! Not to Impress”. Although this concept is partial to the foundation of the street dances, with the vocabulary of foundation one can create honest poetry. The idea that if one is truly expressing oneself, then it will most definitely be impressive.
